Just A Regular Day

Today felt like just a regular day after all the excitement of the 1st of January and the anxiety-ridden day yesterday. It’s amazing what a change came over me when I heard that the hcg numbers doubled yesterday, I just feel more relaxed and confident that this pregnancy just might last. Perhaps it is a false sense of security, because I have a long way to go yet and I am “high risk” with all my autoimmune issues, but things are looking good so I’m feeling good so far. That’s not to say that I’m not still whispering “Please let it last. Please let me have my dream come true” under my breath all the time, but at least I’m not feeling frantic like I did yesterday.

Michael has decided to take the bull by the horns and go do his MCSE again since his last one expired on Dec. 31. While it will cost us a bundle for him to go to the training/crash course in Austin, TX next week and then take all 7 certification tests, we decided it was an investment we couldn’t afford not to make. A lot of the jobs he’s been looking at require the new Windows 2000 MCSE as well as proof of it (your certification number) to even be considered for the job. With the job market the way it is here in Seattle right now in the tech industry, anything he can do to get his resume seen is key. The poor guy has been posting resume after resume and networking his little heart out, but, of course, over the holidays there wasn’t a nibble.

Michael’s going to attend a class that he attended the last time he got his MCSE and he is very pleased with what he learned last time. The best part of it is that he really learns the material, not just how to “take the test” like some of those crash courses. He’s already scheduled to take all the tests the week after he gets home – 7 tests in one week! So he’ll be home, but he won’t be here mentally. He did this last time and passed all the tests within 2 weeks of completing the course, so he’s hoping he can do the same thing this time.

So next week I’ll be a swinging single again. Hey, hopefully I’ll be a pregnant swinging single!! My mom has already cleared her calendar and we “girls” are going to have some fun, which now might include a few baby stores that I’ve been dying to go into but never have.

Tomorrow is my next blood test. Here’s hoping that my numbers continue to look good. I’ll be sure to post to share the news with you all too. I’m sure I’ll be nervous again, but I won’t be a wreck like I was yesterday. So please, I know a whole lot of new readers have come to check out my site now that the good news has spread, if you all cross your fingers for me, I’ve got to get good news, right??!!!

As I said before, the email is just pouring in and it is all just so sweet! I promise I will manage to respond to everyone, but it’s going to take me a while. Thank you so much. You people have been so wonderful to me, I honestly am overwhelmed! And boy, do my stats show how popular Carrie’s site is since my stats went through the roof after she posted our good news in her blog!! Wow!

Thanks again everyone. I hope now that you’ve visited my site once you’ll find it interesting enough to keep reading!
