 That’s right!! We are going to have a little girl!!! A daughter!! A daddy’s little girl. Michael and I are thrilled out of our minds! We keep looking at each other and grinning and saying “We’re having a little girl!” I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling since walking out of that ultrasound room. Of course, we would have been just as thrilled if we were having a little boy, but both of really were kind of hoping for a girl. Although at the beginning of my pregnancy I thought for sure I was going to have a boy and so did Michael, the last few weeks after listening with the BabyBeat, I’ve just had this funny feeling that perhaps it would be a girl after all. I kept picturing myself with a girl and Michael had a dream the other night that we had a little girl. At any rate, we are thrilled. Another thing that came to mind (shows you how warped my mind is) was that we wouldn’t have to make the circumcision decision. I just wasn’t sure I could watch my child get circumcised. As for all the other things they checked during the ultrasound, they all looked good -- the heart, brain, kidneys, bladder, fingers and toes, legs and arms, etc. Based on the ultrasound, my risk of Down Syndrome and Trisomy issues has been cut in half, but due to my age, the blood tests will probably be skewed toward the positive side. I’m still hoping that we’ll get a negative result, but I have to be prepared for a positive one. Then we have to decide whether or not to do an amnio. Uggh, I sure hope we don’t have to make that decision. There’s so much more to tell, like how we told my parents, but I’m going to save that for an entry tomorrow (along with pictures of their reactions). We just got home from my nephew’s birthday celebration and I’m just plain pooped. Between not sleeping well last night (too excited and anxious) and our exciting day as well as a birthday celebration with four little boys, I’m ready to do my injection and then conk out! I’ll leave you with one more ultrasound picture of the Princess Peep! Unfortunately, we only got two good pictures, the others are blurry and are just of the heart and a few other things that we aren’t even sure of. Here’s a picture of our Peeps profile!
