Tuesday, Jul. 30, 2002 - 10:05 p.m. - Belly Growth Fun
It’s funny when I dreamed of getting pregnant, I thought of all the things I would do – write a special pregnancy diary on paper (started but didn’t continue), daily walks (ha, are you kidding, I get out of breath walking from the family room to the kitchen), have all my pictures organized and my Creative Memories baby album up-to-date (I’m already behind and the baby isn’t here yet) and take weekly “belly shots” once there was something to see to record the growth of my belly. Well, I haven’t taken weekly belly shots, but I have taken a few shots here and there, which I guess is better than nothing. So I thought it might be fun to post the belly shots I do have so you can see the change in growth. My belly is starting to look more and more like I swallowed a basketball. The pictures are fun to look at and I can’t believe just how small my belly was even though I thought it was huge at the time. I wonder what I’ll look like in 4 more weeks. If I was more talented with some kind of photo shop like software, I might be able to make one large combined photo of my belly shots, but since I’m not familiar with anything like that, I’ll just post them in order of weeks. Here I am at 19 weeks. I thought I was huge!! LOL Here I am at 25 weeks. Here I am at 29 weeks and 4 days. And the most recent picture taken just this last Sunday at 34 weeks. As you can see, I tried to wear the same dress in each picture and stand in the same place, but the one picture taken up in the nursery was an impromptu one, hence the different clothes. Nothing new to report on my end right now. I’m getting ready to do a “meet and greet” with a pediatrician in our area. We need to have a pediatrician to put down on the paperwork for the hospital. Our biggest concern right now is just getting someone that is close to our home and seems nice and has something set up for after hours and on weekends. It looks like the Dr we are meeting with on Thursday is physically located the closest to us, but their after hours and weekend clinic option is back in Edmonds right next to where we used to live (literally across the street) and he is affiliated with the hospital right next to our last apartment (our building was the last one on the street before the emergency entrance to the hospital, and no, it wasn’t loud because there is a “quiet zone” around the hospital so there were no ambulance sirens blaring, but a lot of traffic). To be honest, we aren’t too impressed with the reputation of, and our experiences with, that hospital. For that reason we might also check out some pediatricians who are just a tad bit further from our house, but have a clinic right there and who are affiliated with a hospital with a better reputation. After two days of feeling wonderfully energized again (I got so much done), I’m feeling a bit ‘draggy’ again today, so I’m going to hit the hay early today, though I have to set my alarm and get myself up to do my shot at 11:30. Thank goodness only one more week on shots!! But you know, as silly as it sounds, I was going to celebrate my 500th heparin shot in some way, and now I won’t get to 500 for this pregnancy, I’ll be 11 short! I’m actually a little sorry about that, and have even contemplated doing those last 11 (only a little over 3 more days) just to get to 500. Is that warped or what?? I guess I’m also still a little anxious about stopping them. They’ve kind of been a security blanket for my little Peep. They’ve kept her safe and helped me to maintain my pregnancy. I’m a little anxious about stopping them. And I won’t be seeing my OB until next Thursday, August 8 so I can’t ask her or tell her my concerns until then. Well, I’ve been meaning to write a particular entry for the last few weeks. I’ve had thoughts going through my head about what I want to write, so one of these days I need to sit down and just do it. Maybe that will encourage me to post again soon! Until next time, please take care and hugs all around!
